KNITTING INSTRUCTIONS

To make our knitted bottle cozy, we first need to measure our bottle and do just a little math.

Bottle Circumference * 4 = Number of Stitches to Cast On

My bottle is about 10 inches in circumference, so I am casting on 40 stitches using the long tail cast on method.

We will knit in the 2×2 Rib Stitch, which is Knit Two and Purl Two on every row. It’s a great project to customize for your hostesses party theme! It’s also is a great yarn busting project, and we can get really creative. I am even adding a bit of this glittery yarn throughout my design to make it a little more glam. We are knitting from the bottom up, and will keep knitting until our piece is the height we desire. For my bottle, that’s just under 8 inches. Now it’s time to knit decreases to fit our bottle neck.

We will knit just three Decrease Rows
* K2, P2, K2Tog, P2 *
* K2, P1, K2, P2Tog *
* K1, P2Tog *

Keep knitting in the 1×1 Rib Stitch, which is * K1, P1 * until your bottle neck is the height you desire, and then just bind off!

So glam! You have just learned how to knit Party Bottle Cozies. I hope you are inspired to give this quick knit project a try.

My Knitted Bow is a great accessory for your bottle. My knitted hearts would also be super cute, too!
