This Tile Squares Stitch Knitting Pattern creates blocks of Stockinette separated vertically with a rib of Seed Stitch and a horizontal ridge of purls. An easy 6-Row Repeat Knit Stitch Pattern knits up this visually interesting design using just a simple combination of knits and purls. As a result, it is a great choice for knitting up blankets and pillows.

Keep reading for all of your materials, techniques, and written pattern instructions to knit this pattern both flat on straight needles and in the round on circular needles.

CLOSER LOOK at the Tile Squares Stitch Pattern

Each square tile is created with 4 stitches and 5 rows. They rest atop a ridge of textured purl stitches while being delineated by 1 rib row in the Seed Stitch. This is not a reversible pattern because the right side of the work displays the design, but you can see that the wrong side (back) does not.
