This Honeycomb Brioche Stitch is light, fluffy, and has some great dimension. It almost looks as though it’s doubled in thickness.
Step-by-Step Knitting Instructions, complete with free video tutorial, of the Honeycomb Brioche Knit Stitch Pattern!
We begin by casting on an EVEN number of stitches. Before starting the Honeycomb stitch, I am going to first knit two rows in Garter Stitch to help my work lie flat.
The pattern is just four repeating rows. This first row is repeating Knit One and Knit One Below across the row until you get to the end.
Brioche Knitting is totally on trend right now. See how easy it is to knit up!
At the end of your first row, I like to hold out the last slipped stitch, to make it easier to find when you start the next row.
On row two, we will pick up the slipped stitch and knit it along with the main stitch on your needle. Then Knit One. Again, pick up the slipped stitch and knit. Then Knit One. Repeat across the row until you get to the end.
Row Three, we will first Knit One Below, then Knit One. Continue along to the end of the row.
And on row four, we will first Knit One, then pick up the slipped stitch and knit. Continue these two stitches to the end of the row.
I suggest always completing all four rows before putting your work down, so you won’t have to try to figure out where you left off.
Just continue these four rows until your piece is the length you require.
